Flash Flood Watch extended

The Meteorological Service has extended the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes.

It is effective until 5 p.m. Thursday.  A trough across the western Caribbean continues to produce unstable weather conditions across Jamaica and the western Caribbean.

Satellite imagery and radar reports indicate that periods of light to moderate showers have been occurring across sections of most parishes throughout the day.

Projections are for periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, to continue to affect sections of most parishes tonight and tomorrow.

Flash flooding therefore remains a possibility over some low-lying and flood-prone areas of these parishes.
